Following the original S-38 were model's-38a through S-38e, remaining in production until using six tubes, is a transformer less ac dc radio with metal cabinet and integrated speaker. With distinctive semi-circular dials, the S-38 through S-38c model's are very recognizable. Like more expensive shortwave receivers, it has a separate band spread tuner, automatic noise limiter anal, and beat frequency oscillator bf for cw listening.
