The speaker element is excellent see photos. It matches the sx front panel is near perfect see photos. The top is better than sides. 2 ohm, 5 by 7 inch oval speaker that provides full sound.
Hallicrafters R-48A speaker 5 x7 oval for SX-122, SX-110, SX-111, etc. The original cabinet paint is quite good and glossy except for some scratches see photos. The bottom is nice as well with all original rubber feet in excellent condition see photos. Serial q188a28 - here is a very nice, good sounding Hallicrafters communications speaker for the receivers from late-50s through early 60's.
I would find it a tough decision to repaint the cabinet. There is a switch on the front panel to select voice or normal response. A perfectionist might decide to have it re-sprayed but many would enjoy 'as is.
