I recently purchased and repaired this Lowe hf however, the actual tuning steps are much finer, depending on the mode selected. This radio may be small in size but it is huge in performance. This radio is easy to operate and looks great with fantastic audio.
The Sinbad measurements were per the Lowe specifications or better. Functionality performance all radio functions operate as described according to the hf user manual. Both pull down front feet lock solidly in place.
The checks alignments were per the Lowe hf technical manual. Included is a non oem 110 vac to 12vdc regulated power adaptor. All push button, select switches, potentiate knobs are original.
As well, this Lowe hf 225 radio has the225 detector module installed see pictures. This radio has fantastic audio in all modes, especially with an external speaker or good quality headphones. The laminated front panel looks great with no issues no separation.
The local oscillator lo did not require adjustment.
The 1kc display resolution may be a bit deceiving at first. Rf selectivity and sensitivity are excellent across the entire band width of the radio.
This Lowe hf 225 is being sold as is. The meter check did not require adjustment and input filter check was in tolerance. The internal regulated power supply and memory backup battery voltage s were checked and in tolerance.
All electronic alignment checks adjustments were performed using calibrated referenced hp test station, freq. The actual radio specifications are widely available on the internet so I will not post them here. The d225 detector unit is a great feature for this radio and performs with excellence.
The reference, retrodden oscillator and if alignment just needed to be touched up slightly. Repair the actual repair was minor defective signal switching diode. Cosmetically this radio is very clean inside and out. Up for sale is a Lowe hf 225 communications receiver.
All of the LCD display segments operate as well as the memory and detector lock indicator LCD segments. There are some very minor cabinet chips on the metal cover see pictures.
After some functionality checks and some operating time, an electronic alignment was performed, mainly due to the radio age. Again, I will only ship to the Lower us 48 states. The 200hz cw filter is nice.
