Some of the Yaesu model's that require this interface include ft 650, ft 736, ft 747gx, ft 757gxii, ft 767gx, ft 840, ft 890, ft w standard 6 pin din plug ft 980, ft 990, ft 1000d, frag 1 frag 8800 and frag 9600 t901357a w mini din plug for ft 757gxii and ft 890. The fif 232c converts Tl levels required by the radio to the rs 232c levels required by the computer. The rear panel has a rs 232c db 25f connector. The cables needed to connect your radio and computer are easily found on also.
The person that I purchased it from never used it, and I have had it in my closet since I bought it. The front panel has a power on off switch and a power led. View my photos for cat commands.
The fif232c is 4 x 3 x 2 inches and operates from 117 vac. This is a standard cable obtainable from most computer suppliers. I purchased my ft 980 used in 1992, this interface came with it.
The fif232c requires a cable to most applicable Yaesu radios. There is an input jack on the front and a Pitt input jack on the right side. Computer control software is not included. The Yaesu fif 232c cat is an outboard interface system required by some Yaesu model's for interfacing the radio to a serial port of a PC.
