2. Cost-effective: Purchasing an unassembled kit is usually cheaper than buying a fully assembled transceiver. This can be a good option for those on a budget or for hobbyists who enjoy building their own equipment.

3. Satisfaction of completion: Completing the assembly of the kit and successfully testing the transceiver can be a rewarding experience.

4. Potential for customization: An unassembled kit allows for customization of the transceiver to fit specific needs or preferences.

Cons of buying a TR-108 Unbuilt-Unassembled Allied Radio Knight-Kit Meter Transceiver Kit from Chicago:

1. Time-consuming: Assembling the kit can be a time-consuming process, especially for those who are new to electronics or radio communication.

2. Potential for errors: Building the kit yourself increases the risk of making mistakes during the assembly process, which could result in a non-functional transceiver.

3. Requires specific tools and parts: Certain tools and parts may be required for assembly, which may not be included in the kit. This could result in additional costs.

4. Lack of warranty or support: Since the transceiver is unassembled, it may not come with a warranty or support from the manufacturer. This could make it difficult to address any issues that arise during or after the assembly process.

Conclusion:

The TR-108 Unbuilt-Unassembled Allied Radio Knight-Kit Meter Transceiver Kit from Chicago offers a hands-on experience, cost-effectiveness, and potential for customization. However, it also requires significant time and effort, increases the risk of errors, and may not come with a warranty or support.

Details:

This listing is for a vintage Allied Radio Chicago Knight-Kit meter am transceiver Kit. In recent years I have offered scores of unbuilt, vintage electronics Kits on resulting happy buyers all over the us and a number foreign countries as well.

I find it difficult, if not impossible, to repack once everything has been unpacked. Unfortunately some of these open box Kits are missing the manual: a reminder that I have not invested time needed to acquire them myself. The photos reveal that I only took off top layers but didn't want to go too deep as it was indeed an art pack heath Kits and Knight-Kits they did at those factories.

In cleaning out my garage now as winter approaches, I have found many 20 or 30 more unbuilt Kits. Anticipated dimensions and weight have been entered into the shipping calculator for use as an estimate only is oftentimes wrong anyway. Buyer to pay actual shipping charges.

Originally shipped in 1969, there may be some sharpie writing on the outside of original box.

Many of the manuals, if not all, can be found online either as free downloads, new reprints or used originals.
