After a year or so, my unit started to not tune any longer. I replaced the rag 58 cable with rag 8x and I then resealed the cabinet cover and around entry points to the cabinet with coax cable sealant. I was using 100 watts from my hf rig with no issues. When I put it up on the bench, I found the sealed cabinet had somehow leaked moisture in to the box and had caused corrosion on some components and some ICC chip legs.
It was stored in a closet since then. Bottom line, the unit functioned 100 normally again. I did lose a couple of stainless steel screws in the process, but with the new sealant, I can now say it was water proof again or maybe for the first time and does function properly again.
Pictures will show some evidence of minor corrosion on screw heads of terminal connections, and some non used circuit board pads.
I was pleased with the performance in that it tuned quickly on all frequencies as long as the parameters listed in the manual were met good radials, no close obstructions, etc. Used for a short time before the hobby to a back seat to other pursuits. I proceeded to painstakingly clean as much corrosion from each component, socket and solder connection that I saw.
I can tell you it functions as it did when new. Since this item is used and old, there is no warranty on the product.
