This is a large and hefty item. Many of these blowers are for 400 hz operation aboard aircraft, but not this one. The nameplate specifies 3200 rpm and continuous duty with only an 18 degree c temp rise in continuous duty application.

I did test both the main and phase shift winding's for continuity, and they are fine. The blower wheel turns very freely by hand. Note that this item is marked for 115 volt, 50 60 hz operation.

There is a flange around the air chute that is about by 5 for sealing an air opening, but there are no holes in the flange see photo. With having no control over use or application of vintage electrical items, no return on this device. Other than not having the phase shift cap, the main problem is rust on the steel blower wheel housing.

The blower wheel housing is approximately 7 in diameter by 3 wide, and the air discharge chute is 3 wide by There is no manual, schematic, or other information available. One lead from each winding is connected to a lead from the other winding, making that likely to be the place for the power neutral wire.

There are 4 leads from the motor 2 for the main winding and 2 for the phase winding. See the photos. The nameplate also bears a collins part number of up for your consideration is a vintage Rotron centrifugal blower, series 329a 1, and made to spec ao I have no other information on this item.

The connecting leads appear to be full factory length around 2 feet and the 6 tapped mounting holes see last picture do not show signs of use. The entire unit weighs around 8 pounds. The blower is sold in as is condition, needing a thorough cleaning and possibly removal of surface rust, as well as a proper 4. Although the item does have a serial number, there is no date code information that I can read.

The 6 tapped mounting holes see last photo are arranged in a circle of about diameter and are evenly spaced.

The finned motor housing extends about 2 inches past the wheel housing, making the total height or width about 5 inches. FD motor run capacitor as stated on the nameplate. I do not know which collins equipment may have used this item.

It is possible that this is actually an nos item, but given its condition, I have to list it as used. I am guessing that this blower dates from the 1980or maybe the early 90s.

The holes appear to be for 6 32 screws. I do not hear any bearing noise.
