Please look at the photos as they are a major part of. The set requires an external field coil speaker and output transformer which would be mounted on the speaker. Only ran the set for a minute or two due to original capacitors and Monitored current draw as I did not want burn anything out. It covers a frequency range of 535 kHz to 37MHzin five bands.

Here is some information Gathered on this set. See links below. Also, I see socket on top of chassis marked crystal but no plug in unit. I do see inartistic transformer that was replaced so obviously some work likely dont the set in past.

It is in very tatty but pretty much readable condition and a wealth of information see photos. Let me reiterate, this is an un restored receiver and you are buying it as so let the photos videos be your guide. You are buying the set as shown without my test speaker and output transformer. I've been reluctant to lissome of the Techs boat anchor vintage receivers because their size and weight difficulty in packing and shipping but at family's request I will start listing some them over the next few months.

To my amazement the set with its mostly 90 year old capacitors and parts came to life. I had the needed parts so Hooked up set and brought it slowly on a VARIAC. The radio has sixteen 16 tubes and they all appear to be present. Did test the knobs on front panel and they all seem to turn as expected.

This is one of a number of vintage tube radios that I have sold starting last year to happy enthusiasts. They'll were from the estate of a ham enthusiast who rebuilt communication receivers over years along with many other tube type radios and test equipment. I know almost nothing about Patterson receivers except that they seldom turn up, especially in this nice cosmetic condition. It also allowed the receiver to be advertised as having two RF amplifiers, even though there was only one set of coils per band and is essentially single pre-selection fronted.

This radio looks exceptional cosmetically but a tag inside indicates it hasn't been restored however see below does work. This is a very nice part of the collection, scarce seldom seen Patterson PR-16 five band, 16 tube receiver dating from about 1936. It appears to me that the sets mostly original. The BFO adjustment is a swing-arm lever accessed under the cabinet lid.

Please look closely stall photos and videos as they are an integral part of. The Patterson receivers were high end receivers with tube counts, chrome chassis ,crystal filters and many other features not available on Hovercrafts and National radios of the same vintage. However, this clearly shows the set is working and thus a good candidate for full restoration. This is a substantial amateur radio, commonly and deservedly called abidance radio approx.

All the Patterson chassis we remanufactured in Galilean plants. Included with this receivers an ORIGINAL manual.
