It measures approx 16. The set powers up with out any drama I did bring it slowly using a Mauriac and receives on all bands. Knobs are perfect and dial string is intact.
About as nice an example of the classic NC-98 receiver you're likely to find, circa 1968 or so.
It is very clean. This is a beauty. Not a Hammond Sp-600 by any means, but performs well for shortwave listening and performance exceeding the 4-5 tube Radios of same era head shoulders above nc-88 or s-38 hovercrafts sets.
Lots of guys started their novice ticket using an nc if you've been looking for a nice NC-98 to add your shack it is comparable mid range price receivers the era. Sensitivity seems down and there is some very slight hum but it works remarkably well. Uses 8 tubes featuring an RF amp, separate mixer oscillator not a noisy converter and two if stages. Its all original.
54khz to 40mhz. Looks like its been stored away for the last 50 years.
