Details:

Fred Osman in his book shortwave receivers past and present lists the receivers rarity as typically unavailable.

In fact, we took one picture showing circuit 4 boards together and you can view the amazing amount of incs installed utilized this unit. We took the unit to have it serviced and issue was corrected.

It is obvious that this was a quality receiver with which jrc spared little expense in manufacture.

Sometimes it would tune and other times not. The technology inside this receiver is amazing.

It has 3 crystal filters installed that have a value of about 400 as can be seen in one our pictures. 3 modes of am MC cw USB 15 Hz for any range we tabled the receiver a couple months to decide if wanted have unit serviced again or sell it as is. We obtained this receiver as part of a group equipment purchase from collector who had some very unusual an unique receivers.

Upon return to us, we retested and discovered that using the wider filter band width s resulted in a retrodden type of whine. Cosmetically, the unit does have signs of age and wear we encourage you to look closely at our pictures front panel for specific cosmetic condition. Upon removing from the shelf and retesting, we once again heard whine, but now noticed that encoder worked intermittently.

It seemed to work okay if one tunes very slowly across the dial, but with no front panel keypad, typically you want a fast tune option get from band another quickly. Operationally, the receiver had some intermittent switches on front panel.

Probably due from many years of non-use as it had been stored in an environmentally controlled room on a shelf.
