The MSR-2 Drake LF HF Communications Receiver, a part of the Drake series, is a highly sought-after piece of radio equipment among amateur radio enthusiasts. This particular model is known for its exceptional performance and robustness, making it a reliable choice for long-distance communication.

The MSR-2 is equipped with a wide frequency range, covering the Low Frequency (LF) band, making it suitable for various communication needs. It features a high-quality receiver with excellent selectivity and sensitivity, ensuring clear and stable reception even in noisy environments.

However, it has been reported that some users have encountered issues with the MSR-2 Drake LF HF Communications Receiver, particularly with the DSR-2 Radiomarine EAC by4 Nixies display. The Nixie tubes, known for their vintage and captivating appearance, may sometimes exhibit flickering or failure to display numbers correctly.

Despite these issues, the MSR-2 Drake LF HF Communications Receiver remains a popular choice due to its superior performance in terms of reception and sound quality. It also comes with a variety of features, such as a built-in AF decoder, multiple filter settings, and a convenient front-panel control layout.

If you are considering purchasing the MSR-2 Drake LF HF Communications Receiver, it is essential to be aware of the potential issues with the Nixie display. However, with proper maintenance and care, these issues can often be resolved, and the receiver can continue to serve its purpose as a reliable and enjoyable tool for amateur radio communication.

Details:

Couldn't find an exact replacement. The receiver allows about 4 JCS beyond 100kc edges before it blanks but remains operational within those 4kcs. The display is absolutely correct within 100 kc range. Buyer pays for shipping.

This does not affect performance. I package for safe arrival. It is exactly the same as Drake MSR-2. It only shows when the 100kc tuning range is exceeded.

The manual goes into an detailed explanation of circuitry involved. I'm sure this is repairable. BTW there isn't much difference between fast and slow. It has a very effective noise blanker.

You are buying on a re branded Drake MSR-2 receiver.

The 5th picture shows a display below manual range and 6th it above. The overflow feature at tuning edges does not display correctly. It receives in all its modes perfectly. The avg slow fast switch was defective and replaced with a psst toggle at upper left side of front panel.

I do not pad shipping costs. Performance at lf is superior to the dsr-1 2 due pre selector desktops don't have. Included is this offer are 4 new nixie tubes, the front handles and an original manual. There are 2 issues.

The 5th and 6th pictures show this issue. One nixie shows 2 numbers.

This is one of the quietest receivers I have owned and many.
