Details:

This installation does not require any technical skill. The vc 20 is pretty easy to install and comes with a copy of the installation sheet to guide you in the process. Regarding installation, you do not require anything but a properly sized Phillips head screwdriver and about 30 minutes of time.

Basically, you remove the top cover of the kenwood r 50 attach the 3 cables inside the kenwood to the vc 20 specifically for that purpose, and then fasten it to the main board with 2 screws and the rear panel with the 4 screws.

This is not a technical installation and should be able to be performed by even the least technical person out there as it requires no soldering.

Once installed, the frequencies will appear on the readout like the hf frequencies. The vc 20 has been tested and operates quite well.

In addition, the unit comes with the 4 screws to secure it to the rear of the receiver and the mounting brackets to secure it to the inside of the receiver. Finally you replace the cover and then you are ready to use the vhf unit.

There are also screws for the 2 mounting brackets.
