The widow, who was very knowledgeable about equipment, insisted that he had purchased two new tubes for this project but we could not find them at time. Only the most experienced technician having experience with working on big amps should attempt these tubes to prevent damaging and or killing them selves. This ham was a prolific builder until he suffered long illness and went SK that about 5 years ago after having been sick for or 6.
The back story on these tubes is this. When picking up the equipment I found nearly complete RF deck to a two hole big Bertha but no tubes. They came from an estate I bought out late last year.
These tubes are new and unused but have been setting on the shelf for at least 10 years by my estimation need to be conditioned before using. Eimac 4PR-1000As still in their packing cradles.
