This Ge radio has a variety of features not always found on modest price portable such as bf decodes side band, choice two band width s, tone controls, record output, earphone jack, tuning meter, AFC automatic frequency control for fm drift and calibrator. During operation, we did not detect any operational issues or shortcomings. The speaker grill is heavy duty and serves to protect oversize.

This is a nice radio for someone who would like that offers few features, but not overly complicated to operate. Both of which may be turned off to save on battery drain.

The design of radio is that a military unit with front rack grips serve to protect panel controls during installation batteries or if accidentally tipped over. Cosmetically the radio has a variety of marks from age and use, but these do not affect operation.
